Why choose this training?
Length of course: 1 day 9.30 – 4.30
Expected outcomes: by the end of the course participants will be able to
- have a clarity of purpose for supervisions, being clear about policies and definitions
- articulate the benefits of supervision
- know the common barriers to supervision
- understand the links between supervision to the outcome for users of the service
- see how anxiety affects supervision
- identify different models of learning and supervision styles through Kolb’s learning cycle
- notice and evaluate ‘games’ played in supervision
- evaluate the impact of organisational culture
- support their supervisees with the emotional impact of their work
- ensure that they don’t collude with a professional accommodation syndrome
- offer appraisals which serve the needs of the organisation and the employee
- give balanced, data based feedback
Nature of training:
Maximum of 16 participants .Exercises will range from lecture style input (small) to discussion and small group work and to individual sharing within pairs. Hand outs will be provided to reinforce all theoretical input. A video will also contribute to this training.
