|Course:||Power of Self Esteem (SEE)
A course for mums, dads, grandparents and their young family members. This course has a rich mixture of activities. From Monday to Friday, each morning the adults will do a three hour session of the Power of Self Esteem course, in a roundhouse. As it is August, in England, there is a wood burning stove there in case we need it!
Whilst this is going on, the children will have a range of four or five lead activities to choose from such as outdoor games, creative ventures and messy play.
Each afternoon family members will work together on self esteem issues using the arts. We will make masks to show how we think we have to look and behave for others to like or approve of us; make snake sock puppets to be that sneaky little voice we hear in our heads that remind us that other people are better than us; ear trumpets so that we can be supported if we don’t hear that voice clearly; big puppets to complete and dress for acting out drama; voicework and artwork and balloons for dreamwork.
There will be 12 to 15 places for adults to take the course, which has a set of CDs to take home to consolidate the learnings. We will have 15 to 20 team members to support the course and lead the children’s activities.
We will be on beautiful fields, eat and cook outside, have all manner of fun in the evenings and generally nurture ourselves and our families. You will need to bring a tent and sleeping bags etc. This will be an unplugged camp so musical instruments will be welcome but Xboxes not so. No age limit on children…..or grown ups!
